anyone know if you can replace the factory sub woofer amp with a aftermarket one.. and were is the factory amp located on a 2002 7 series?

I know you can add sub woofers to the car for bass. As for the location the L7 can be found in the rear left quarter of the trunk. See pic below. Its the titanium looking box to the right of the GPS. It sits on a 45 degree angle.
