Need some help. I looked at some older posts about the power steering fluid. Supposed to use ATF. I've been getting intermittent "steering malfunction" warnings and it says "could be caused by low fluid". I found what I think is the reservoir. It's next to the radiator reservoir on the passenger side. But is says " CHF-11S oil only" and it's definitely low.

#1 - Is that the power steering fluid reservoir?
#2 - It's clear, not matching the red stuff they gave me at the auto parts store.
#3 - If that is the PSF reservoir, do I need to go to a BMW dealer to get the proper fluid or can I get the right stuff at the local Autozone?
#4 - If its not the PSF reservoir, what is it?

Yes, that's the power steering fluid res. Mine is in the shop for a leaking power steering pump so I'm very familar with that one. I just picked up a can at the dealer. I think it was around $15. They came out and verified which one my car needed (CHF-11S in mine). The steering hydraulic system should not need topping off, you might want to start looking for where it's leaking.

My bet is the hose clamp below the resivoir.
