I'm considering the purchase of a 2012 X5. How accurate are the predicted mileage figures for the 2011 X5 35i, (17/25 or 23 depending on what source you're reading)?

I'm thinking you should post this in the X5 forum. But in the case of my E60 530i, my highway mileage was significantly better than the sticker, and my city driving was about as expected.

I think the new mpg ratings system is much more accurate than it was earlier, but I get better than the 29 mpg highway on my 535 if I hold to the speed limit (but that's no fun). I think they changed the method for determining milage in '07 or so.

Look at the 35d if mileage is a concern. I am getting 19 around town and 28.5 on the highway.
