10/92. Would that make it a 92 or would it be considered a 93? Might be stupid but I don't know If it would be different

BMW didn't (and still doesn't) go by "model years" like U.S. manufacturers do. They occasionally make a mid life update like they did with the E36 facelift which was a pretty minor change, but when they make a model change they change the designation. E30, E36, E46, etc.
Your car was likely marketed in the U.S. market as a "1993" since U.S auto makers introduce new model years the fall before the year designation.
