Are you using ENET Cable, and E-Sys "Connect via VIN", and not Gateway URL?

 

i am using enet, the yellow type cable and tried URL or by VIN. The same erros pop up. i am not even trying to program it, only coding and this happens

 

Use Connect via VIN, and then use "Read ECU", not "Read SVT".

 

I have no issues with connecting to the car, I even read cafd coding, and when I try to do the Edit FDL These errors pop out then and I do read the Ecu and when trying to do the edit FDL errors come out

Flashing a used ECU is always difficult, as the I-Step Shipment is usually both different from your car, and is unknown. After you calculate KIS/SVT Target, check the box that says "HW-IDs from SVTactual" and then Save as SVT_soll, and see if you can flash it then. If it still does not work, the only thing you can do is try different I-Step Shipment dates until hopefully one works. This is simply Trial and Error. You can only flash it when SVT_soll ECU HWEL is Black, not Red / Blue.

Used ECU's are Flash / Encoded this way all the time. TMS is not any different.

 

First off, thanks for providing me info on coding as I continue to plan retrofitting my X3 M40i with a heated M Steering Wheel. Some more questions? How would I update "My vehicle" screen, then "Settings", then "Climate" functions as demo'd on this on this video? I do have heated seats, so that's the only thing I can control, but once I add the heated steering wheel...how do I update this part? It this a Dealer update? Thoughts?

You cannot use an used transmission. First at all you have to delete the old ISN inside, otherwise you will not be able to switch to D. Deleting the ISN is not a job for E-Sys. For this you need special equipment.

you have wrong power class in DME and FEM.
In this case, try to adjust working hours of the used DME to under 10 and then re-code it.

when i am trying to do tal calc, this error comes up. any idea why? i have swapped the dme, used, the car starts the only thing is that the check engine is on and has 3 fault codes, cant get rid off.

 

VIN issue. Do exactly this:

1) Read FA
2) Select Read VIN our of FA & "Read VIN"
3) Then do all of the ECU Selects - blflash...
4) Do the Check Software
5) Then select the "Read VIN out of FA" which greys out the "Enter VIN"
6) Then do the Start...

E-Sys Launcher should be used ONLY for FDL Coding. Just run E-Sys without E-Sys Launcher if you are Flashing.

 

I am using the esys launcher, and I don't how else can I use the "direct" flashing. Can you guys kind of explain me a bit more?????

 

:dunno: I just told you, "Just run E-Sys without E-Sys Launcher". That's it. E-Sys Launcher is needed only for FDL Coding.

Forget E-Sys Launcher. Run C:\EC-Apps\ESG\E-Sys\E-Sys.bat.

Hi guys,

I programmed by F36 using E-SYS and an ENET cable 5 years ago, and it was smooth sailing since.

Fast forward to 2022, had to send in my Beamer to a shop that wasn't my selection (insurance chose it), who then sent it to a BMW dealer to install a replacement OEM headlight, and our good friends there reflashed the entire car...wiping out both my E-SYS settings and my MHD flash tune.

No biggie. The tune has promptly been reflashed. But I can't find my old ENET cable.

So the question: can I use a USB to ENET adapter with my tune flash cable?

Unlikely. Tune Cable is not same. Get an cheap ~$20 ENET Cable from Amazon.
