What is the newer version?

What does it give over the older version?

Most important, is it needed for a 2016 M3?

This makes no sense. Full version is to bring car to that level via programming / flashing. If car is already at that level, then you should only need Lite version for coding.

Yes, lite is ok, but for older cars i can update with full version.
