Sorry to hear that buddy. They can take the fun out of driving quickly, huh? In my experience a $100 AR device is not worth it. If you speed 50+ over the speed limit you need a really good Radar+Laser detection system and a Laser jammer. Cops nowadays use Laser technologies when they are parked and fishing for speeders. On the move they'll most likely use Ka band. You have to understand the concept. Your Escort (depending on the model), should pick up Laser when the cop is trying to get your speed. It won't pick up Laser beam when it's shot at another vehicle. That's why I suggested Laser jammer in conjunction with Laser detector. I have Escort 360 and I've picked up Laser being shot at me on couple of occasions.My escort is fine for all Radar but useless for Laser even though it's suppose to pick it up. More and more they are switching to laser so if I was looking to buy, I don't think it's worth it anymore.
Escort Max 360 is a Radar and Laser Detector. It's NOT a laser jammer. Laser jammer is a separate machine. Depending on the model you can set it up to automatically disable at different times. I said 3 seconds because that's a safe bet that a cop won't notice that you have a laser jammer. It costs money to get the latest laser jamming technology which is undetectable to cop's arsenal of toys. If you have a heavy foot it's still cheaper to spend $1500 every 2-3 years to be on top of the game. And it is, indeed, a game; a spending game.Cop gets indication of target's laser emission and cites the offender with obstruction of justice. My most recent speeding citation, indeed, my most recent line-of-duty cop interaction, was in 1977 when I got a Yankee furrin' car citation in my 1973 911 with state of the art radar detector. The cop wasn't running radar.

Anyhow, what Laser jammer does, it's jams Laser beam from going back to the cop's laser gun. When you have a laser jammer setup with your Escort Laser detector you basically have to have the jammer setup to disable after 3 seconds. Here is how it works.
1. You drive 15 over speed limit
2. You have Laser detector (Escort) and laser jammer enabled
3. Cop shoots at you with laser gun
4. Escort picks up the signal and alerts you
5. Laser jammer jams the signal for 3 seconds
6. You have 3 seconds to hit the brakes and slow down to proper speed
7. Laser jammer shuts down after 3 seconds
8. Cop gets a reading of your speed
9. You are smiling and keep going
