Here in Southern Africa, i am looking to purchase my first BMW 5 Series 520D Luxury Line - I currently drive a 2008 VW Jetta 1.9 TDI - so the large vehicle and diesel option works for me. I found a 2016 demo model from a BMW dealership with 9000km (+/-5600miles) for the price of R530 000.00 ($36 500.00) - original price new with extras on the vehicle sells at R738 000.00 - ($50 900.00) so thats a about $15 000.00 discount for an almost new vehicle - We should be getting the new G30 only in the first or second quarter of 2017, so there is no reduction on the price tag of a new F10 model yet - seems like the right deal to purchase now.

that seems like a really good price for a 2016. We dont have the 520d in the US but that still seems like a good deal on a 2016. Congrats!

So after a month of speculating and searching fro better deals i purchased the vehicle last week. It was worth the waiting period as dealer the price by another R10k +/- $770 but after in-house insurances and extras it finally came to +/- $36900 - So far so good, just working on the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.

Its a year later and I am still loving my 520D. Besides a few squeaks and rattles, which were sorted out by the dealer all has gone well. I put 44000 km on the clock in the first year, that's 27500 miles. Fuel economy is about 18km to the litre of diesel. Yesterday my rear left Run Flat Tyre stripped on the inside rim, i first for me, it had done 54000km without incident - its a Bridgestone Potenza 245/45/18 96y. Looking to replace the two rear tyres with Michelin.
