if you stink like fuel after driving your car for a while, and the passanger compartment explodes when you press in the cig lighter, then your canister is bad

Sorry to jump on your thread Photoguy but I was wondering if I can bypass it and recycle the fuel back to the tank without going thru that thing. Any thoughts?
