Is it necessary to replace the fogging sensor when the windshield is being replaced? My initial search shows that the fogging (condensation) sensor is glued to the windshield at certain pressure. Any info would be appreciated. I may have to replace this unit under warranty if that's the case.

Don't expect to be able to remove the sensor and reinstall it on the new glass such that it works correctly.

The only correct way is to order glass with the sensor pre-installed.
I don't think that was the case. I replaced windshield recently and upon scan I got the fogging sensor code. I think the sensor has to be installed after the mirror has been installed. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct. The rain sensor etc are part of the windshield. The cabin humidity sensor is stuck on with double sided tape.
