R compound tires

788 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  nate
I have decided to take the plunge and get R-compounds for the track. The choice are basically Hoosier, Yoko A-032R and Kumo Victoracers, Hoosier being the most expensive and the Kumos the cheapest. I looked at the Tire Rack ratings and reviews, but would like a little more input from people who've actually used them on the track.

TIA.

I don't have experience with them personally, but fellow drivers from our local auto-x club all praise the Victoracers.
Toyos or Yokos are the most popular at our tracks. Only the real hardcores are running Hoosiers.

I think the Toyos have a slight edge in popularity.

They both handle about the same
Do you know where I can get more info on the Toyos, other than on their website? The Tire Rack does not carry them...

Thanks again.
I have heard good things about the Toyos. Supposedly, the new Pilot Sport Cup is popular with E46 M3s. Hear they have great wear properties while gripping like Hoosiers
