What's involved in moving a BMW Business Radio from one E46 to another. According to the dealer, there is no security code like there was with the E36 radios. Can the move be accomplished without dealer intervention or do they have to enable the install through their electronic service tools? Thanks.

I was told on Thursday when I picked up my 2202 330ci that should the radio go dead, I'll need to contact the dealership to obtain the activation code for the radio. The code can be entered (somehow) via the display and the radio controls.

If you look in the radio manual, there is a serial number but there is no longer a security code like there were in older (E39/36, for example) ones.
