I have a 2000 323i and recently I have started to hear this rattle when in 3rd & 5th gears. Its a lot louder when in 5th and stops when I let off the gas. Anyone know what this is about??? :dunno:

sorry, don't think I was specific enough. The rattle actually sounds like it coming from the gear shifter itself.

I think it is the shifter knob. My M3 started that not too long ago. Not sure how to stop it.
