Recall Items

Since I just reciever my car in december I have heard of a couple of recall items like the cooling fan and the steering module. How do I know if my car needs these modifications, Does BMW send a recall notice??? I assume they don't unless it's a safety item. Where can I find out about all of the recall fixes BMW has for these cars? Can anyone list them or direct me otherwise? Thanks form the rookie

Official Gov't recall database, its pretty intuitive to use...

As for the steering and fan, if you got your car in December, you don't fall into either.

My car was actually produced in July But I didn't take delivery until December. ED and Post sept 11 delays. Wasn't sure when the retrofits were worked into production.

My car was a Week 30 build (July 19th,2001 to be exact) and there are no outstanding recalls currently, and, you have the newer Bosche fan. Your fine, but if your like me, I always take a glance at that temp guage now and then, just good driving habits to be in anyway!

Wish I had an oil pressure guage dang it!
