? regarding Zaino process

I just went ahead and sent out the order for the full Zaino kit. My question is, my car is only a month old, has been washed once a week since I got it, and the surface is still glass smooth. Will I need to use the clay bar at this point, or is my surface clean enough???? Or should I use a cleaner that they sell at pep boys, like meguirs paint cleaner? Also anyone use Zaino on steel gray, is the result good and worthwhile??

I used Zaino's clay bar on my titanium silver 3er about 1 month after I had bought it, and honestly the results were negligible. Not a whole lot of dirt came off. Then again, I had already applied three coats of wax to it within the month prior, and that may have done a lot of what the clay bar would have, being that it was a brand new car and all. Another possibility is that the folks at Cutter BMW may have just detailed it so well prior to pickup that there wasn't anything to remove at all. :D

Do I regret it? Not really. It wasn't that difficult, and now I have the peace of mind for the next year or so that I don't need to do it again.

I'd still clay it. It won't hurt and will only leave the surface in even better shape... Wash with Dawn, clay, wash it again with a high quality car wash shampoo (I use Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner), and then start polishing with Zaino.

Hopefully this will answer your last question...

I clay barred my new car last weekend and I pretty much exhausted a bar with the contaminants. The car was a Euro Delivery vehicle, so it had about 1000 miles before I cleaned it, so it wasn't "pristine" new, but I'm glad I barred it.

I got excellent results with one coat of polish on Jet Black.

Is one zaino clay bar enough to do an entire car or should I buy two of them. Car is new but trucked from NJ VPC to dealer in NC so it might of picked up a lot of contamination along the way.
One is fine

The Zaino clay product comes with two bars and one was fine for my car, although I used an entire bar.

You could also use another clay product if you wanted to save some money.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll just order the one bar from Zaino.
Zaino clay

It comes in a two pack....

The Zaino claybar is definitely one of the best out there and probably my favorite. But if you have your heart set on just getting ONE claybar as opposed to Zaino's two-pack, an excellent alternative would be Clay Magic, sold at Autozone ($10 for the clay and lube).
Thanks. I'm getting ready to send an order to Zaino today. Ordering lots of stuff so I'll just get their 2-pack clay bar.

I plan on doing a practice zaino job on my neighbors 97 Bonneville, it has never been garaged, never waxed, and only gets washed if it rains.
