Hi i have a 1995 325is it did not come with a remote key, but i want one! anyone know of a way to do it? can i buy a bmw remote key blank and get it cut to fit mine, or buy 2 keys, the one for my year and the remote and swap the key part. can you reprogram the remote keys? thanks

Don't know about your car - for my car ('98 540), I had to go to the dealer with my VIN and ownership. They order a new one from Germany. Its expensive, but the only way I know of getting a new keyfor my car. You cannot just copy the key to a blank because it won't have the anti-theft chip inside specific for your car.

Perhaps you should call your local BMW parts and ask them what process you need to go through

95 is the cut-off for built-in immobiliser (chip or no chip).

If you existing key is silver colour, no chip
If you existing key is copper colour, chip

mine is silver so then is it doable do you think? i really want to have my remote and key all in one piece :-D :thumbup:
