Removing HU patch (feature installer)

Hello,

I used feature installer a while ago from a reseller, coded carplay fullscreen for my nbtevo - however I lost my fsc backup that the tool saves to desktop and also since switched computer.

I ran feature installer again with my code, and all it did was re-enable carplay after I had already used esys to code HU_NBT back to default (to remove all the HU Coding it did)

I went to do some other coding recently (trying to learn) and I can't work out how to:

a) remove feature installer patch
b) restore my FSCs to OEM

Any advise would be great, I fear that my only option is to flash the HU (which I have no clue how to do)

a) HU must be flashed (programmed) with E-Sys and PSdZData Full to remove patch
b) OEM FSC Codes must be obtained, and then loaded individually using E-Sys.

After I switched computer I ran it again and it didn't ask me that, it just patched it. After running the third time after it patched the second time (now on my new computer), I noticed desktop FSC file and now it asks me to restore backup, but that's not OEM, that's a backup of me manually coding out features with feature installer patch still present...

If your Feature Installer included OEM Backup and Restore, do a Restore. If not, need to flash EVO, wipe Custom FSC Codes, and load OEM FSC Codes.

What does the Feature Installer actually do? Change the FA, install the FSCs and code the car to comply with the new changes? Are these changes permanent If I do software updates or FDL encodings. And will the headunit get ruined the next time I update the car with Esys or pirated ISTA or genuine ISTA online if I have installed something with Feature Installer? Does the My BMW app work after this and the service information sent via KaSIO to the headunit?
I was thinking if I buy a full set (Maps, Apps, Carplay, TTS, etc.) from one of the package sellers. The intention was to get this for the Entrynav2 evo.

It changes the Certificate Signature stored in Head Unit to load custom FSC Codes. It does not change FA, but will change some FDL Codes to enable features such as Sat Radio, CarPlay, Screen Mirroring, etc. Coding changes are made until they are overwritten by new codings.

You need to do Feature installer OEM Restore before updating with ISTA. E-Sys not matter.

Feature Installer has no affect on MyBMW App.

No. And if you ever wanted to restore OEM Condition, you could simply Program the Head Unit and load OEM FSC Code set, without using FI Backup files.

@shawnsheridan Seems like you know a lot about feature installer, so maybe you'll have time to answer my question :D

I see it says it's connecting to some server every time it runs. Is there a common server for all of them, or each vendor you buy a code from has to run his own ?

If each vendor has to run his own, I feel like choosing a good one is quite important since you might need to use the APP later, fx. for restoring to OEM or applying the patch again after an update, as there could be a situation where the seller's server is turned off, am I right?

Regards.

Common Server.
