Is there a trick to remove the spare tire? I had to flat tires this month and taking out the spare tire is more of a pain than anything else. I have a OEM spare one and it looks like the clearence between the hole in trunk and tire tire is less than 1/4"...

The full-size spare can be a bit cumbersome, particularly for those with bad backs. If you don't mind the speed limitations of a space-saver spare, you can purchase one from a vendor such as LeatherZ and carry it instead of the full-size spare. The space-saver spare was standard on 330i ZHP cars.
