Just picked up my brand new 335 xi w/ black metallic paint about 3 weeks ago. Alreday got a small ding in the rear passanger door. Had it looked at by a body shop, they will need to repair the dent and repaint the entire door.

Do I need to be nervous about the paint not matching the rest of the car?

The body shop told me that the paint is matched exactly via computer and a code taken from the VIN. They say I won't be able to tell the difference at all. Still I'm nervous, especially since it's a brand new car.

Does anyone have knowledge about these things or experience? Please let me know....

...and you already had it looked at by a "paintless dent repair"-type specialist? And that person's verdict was what? Your end results will depend on the skill of the technicians and how much time (translation: dollars) they put into this or any other repair - matching the paint color is the easy part.
