Hi guys,

I have a 07 328i coupe and I am looking for a cheap way to replace #8 in the pic.
My current one is bent diagonally and results in a annoying rattling noise when I am driving..
After a little research, I was able to find the part number (18207553607) for $21.83 off getBMWparts.com. The price seemed a little high just for that metal clamp..
I will probably drop by Home Depot to see but does anyone have other ideas?

Get a piece of bar stock, cut to length, bend to shape, drill hole in center. I'm assuming you have the tools and skill to do this. Doesn't look too hard.

I've seen coathangers on many Cavaliers and Civics, that might work.............

$22 bucks seems like a deal to me... Being able to bolt it right up, versus messing around a home brew metal chunk? Priceless!

You might be able to bend the original one back into shape. Can you place it in a vise and use some elbow grease? If not, $22 doesn't seem like a ridiculous amount to spend to remove an annoying rattle and not waste more of your time.

Since I didn't really have the necessary tools to bent it back; I made up my mind and
made an order for the clamp / weatherstripping from getbmwparts.com.
Hopefully all the vibration noise goes away after I bolt them up!

Did you try Advanced Auto or your local neighborhood parts store to see if you could get it cheaper there?

Feel lucky that it only cost $22. Almost nothing on a BMW is that cheap. If they were the US Treasury, they'd charge you $50 for a $5 bill. But it would be the sexiest $5 you ever saw.
