Hello,

I have a 2018 X2 and need to replace a rear turn signal. The manual says to use a P21WLL bulb which also seems to be called a P21W here in the US. I see this at some retailers (IE: Pep Boys) but the usual places like Autozone and O'Reilly's don't carry it. Instead their systems say my car uses a 7506. The bulbs look the same. The 7506 says 12V 21W and says also fits 1073 but doesn't mention P21W anywhere on the packaging.

Does anyone know if P21W and 7506 are in fact the same thing?

Here are the pictures of a 7506 bulb I found at WalMart for reference.

This is what I found online:

7506 is Osram's number for a type P21W bulb. P21W and 1156 are very similar. They aren't identical, but they are functionally interchangeable in many cases as long as the 1156 one uses has a nickel-plated base and not a plain brass one. If you are forced for some reason to use a plain brass base bulb in a socket intended for a P21W, apply silicone dielectric grease to the base before installing the bulb.
