I think I have a leak on the right bank, but I'd like to confirm it by looking at some pictures and I'd like to track down a quality set of seals.

I searched the forum as BlueBee instructs us to do, and found this post by him:

I checked with Dr. Vanos and he had this to say:
Do you offer a kit for the M62 V8 motors?


The M62 engine found on the 540i, 740i and others, does not use a typical vanos unit and is not a part that is easily removed or replaced. It is also not a common failure item, so it would be unusual to have a vanos related problem on this engine.

I didn't find a kit on the Besian website either.

So, anybody got any tips, suggestions or DIY articles to link to?

Oh no, his last update on that kit was in March:

"We have run into a problem in beta testing and are currently trying to resolve it. I'm not sure how long it'll be now. We are doing more testing.

i just did the updated beta last weekend. Its getting close. At this point the seals are good, the current delay is just a special tool required in the updated procedure is being tested for user feedback to make sure its something that can be done at home by the average diy'er

I spoke with someone at Besian and he hald informed me that they were having some issues dialing in the specs on a special tool needed to be able to perform the job.

I am like a little kid waiting for christmas to come. :thumbup:
