I have a 1999 e46 328I. i am just wondering how much would it cost me to replace the starter? i know is pretty difficult changing a starter.

I took it to the shop they quoted me 300 dollars.. i think that might be to high..

About $70-100 for the starter. You can install it your self pretty easly. But if you don't want to do that then I'd say about $50 more for labor.
All in all about $150-160

If you don't have the tools yes it is, but if you DO then na its not to hard
I did one in a 04 325i took me about 45mins.

Well.. I won't say all mechanics but the majority of them...
