Hi,
I just had my Inspection 2 done on my 318i (2003 model - odo 110000) and the cost came to AUD $ 1150.00

It is broken down into the following:

Inspection2 - $255
Bleeding brake system with ABS/ASC+T - $121
Replacing Coolant - $110

Consumables: Castrol SLX PRO BMW LL01 - 5 lit - $100
BMW nrake fluid DOT4 - $37

Parts:
Oil filter - $23
Micro filter - $94
Air filter $ 50
Antifreeze - $14
Bleeder Screw: $9, Spark Plugs (4) - $152, Wash additive $ 3, Radiator cap $58

This is okay and I expected this much. But they have suggested I replace the following defects separately and gave me a quote for $2200:
  1. Rocker cover and diamond seal leaking oil
  2. Vaccum pump blocked
  3. all PCV hoses blocked
  4. PCV valve blocked
  5. both Solenoid valve and "O" rings leaking oil.

Is this reasonable for a 8 year old car with 110kms on Odo or are they trying to rip me off?

Please help!

Rocker cover gasket is a typical wear item. Leads to oil leaks and whiffs of burnt oil in the cabin.

The other items seem to remind me of other threads where folks change their crankcase ventilation valve (CVV). Search on this and there a few threads on it.

I can't mentally translate from AUD to USD, but the relationship between the parts costs looks odd. A radiator cap for $58? Spark plugs for almost $40 each? Micro filter for $94?

Hi Llando88, 1 AUD = 90 US Cents.

Yes, the parts have been charged at that rate and they are authorised BMW dealer/ service.
