I am having a problem where the rotor cap is arching from top screw to where #2 wire plugs into cap.
I have replaced the cap two times with success each time. Car runs great for 3-4 months. I have replaced the coil as well as I was told, there could be an issue with irregular voltage.

I't's back and I'm interested in the cause as opposed to a 4th rotor cap (temp) repair.

I think you have another problem that is causing the arcing. My guess is that it's in the seconday part of the ignition system; coil, wires, plugs, rotor, maybe even just the high voltage lead from the coil to the cap, or even corrosion around any of these connections, etc. These ignition systems usually have problems with any parts that are not OEM, so if your wires or coil are aftermarket they could be the cause.

Most people I speak to really emphasize the need for OEM
The cap is duralast
I do have OEM wires and Bisch coil.
