Bridgestone Turanza RFT, 225/40/18 all around. What is the widest tire I could run on my exiting wheels?
Honestly, you're probably close to the best you can do with those wheels, which I assume are 18x7.5 436M wheels.

The stock staggered setup for the xDrive used 225/40R18 on 18x7.5 436M wheels in the front and 245/35R18 on 18x8 436M wheels in the back.

Tire size comparison

The staggered setup offered on the M2 performance is 245/35/19 front, 265/30/19 rear. There is a slight difference in ET from M2 to M235i. forget which one the dealer said is which, but one ET is 45 and the other is 48. The wheels for both are 8", except the rear that hold 265.

Because of AWD I would stay square. Just wondering if tire compound was enough or if I could bump the width a little. I was looking at 245/35/18 both compared to original 225/40/18 and the M2 front of 245/35/19.

Pictures will not show up, but I ran tire size comparisons using https://tiresize.com/comparison/

I am thinking the 245/35/18 will fit, but I hate being the first person. For fear of wasting $800.

If you've got 8" wheels, you may get away with it. I don't think they'll go on a stock 7.5" M235xi set.
