My car had the wood trim. If you look at it in the light there's scratches, some were there when I bought it.

Can you buff them out since it's a thick clearcoat?

yes, use a very very mild polish and follow with 'wax' on it.

EDIT : ask a store which sells antique furniture. They usually restore and repair such stuff. I'm sure they'll have a hint.

Considering the 'wood trim' is a wood veneer with a lot of plastic on it.... i'd have to say to try a glaze to fill the scratches first before you start fiddling with plastic polishes

At Cutter, Jon was showing us what appear to be 'cracks' in the finish on his wood trim. He said other people have also reported it.

mmmm.... these are scratches. I'm sure from clutzy passengers.
