Hey all,
I just got an e-mail back from a buddy who lives and works in Munich (he is a Munich policeman). He is actually an American ex-pat who used to be a former US Army Special Forces who went to Munich, married a local, and is now a dual citizen.
Anyway, he said that not only has Austria started this, but Italy and Spain also require these vests. And, he said that other countries will soon follow suit. c'est la vie!!!!
My friend said that these vests will need to be IN THE CAR and not in the trunk, in case of an emergency, and are available at gas stations and most stores. Cost?? around 5 Euros....
So, it appears that this is not a big deal after all.
Cheers,
Mark in Austin
