Work very well lot of options and features including PIP.. Cost me total under $300. Have capabilities to add front camera and many other things including phone screen mirroring.

Pretty easy to install.. I ran the wires from the driver side trunk hinge all the way to the front glove box and did the integration of the box behind the nav screen. used a wire to fish wires without taking any panels apart. done in 3 hours.
Programmed the video box as per the instructions...

Very similar product here..

Instruction and Programming manual here.. the latest version is attached

I'd like to see a DIY, is this the same box that would add BT music streaming and other interface options?
Not really.. Even though that can be done this module is more of a Video switch.. it is a third party module and not from BMW. Please do read the posted links and attached PDF for more details.. this is what some Back up camera solution providers give you and charge you over $500 and even $600.

You have a CIC though :(

I wish there was something like this for a M-ASK or CCC unit for E60's from 2004-2008.

Modmynav is incredibly overpriced for what they're actually giving you. You can honestly buy an entire new updated Navigation system running Android online for around $500...

Yes you have options too.. do communicate with these folks they seem to have a good range and know their BMWs and what is compatible to them.

The seller on Ali Express is very good and researches and responds well. You can also download the manual and read the details for clarity on what works for you.

Good Luck

I've been wanting to add a rear camera and these seem like interesting alternatives to ModMyNav.

Just want to clarify...the links that you provide to Car-Solutions and AliExpress are for two different modules that offer similar features, correct?

Any particular reason you went with the unit sold through AliExpress as opposed to Car-Solutions?

Based on the instructions you provided, I see an input for the rear camera -- are you aware of how a front camera could be added?

The modules are similar from both providers I am guessing the Aliexpress is newer with newer firmware etc. Also Aliexpress was a bit cheaper and the supplier was very helpful in answering question.. I had a whole lot. The car solutions I discovered after I purchased from Aliexpress... so you could go either way.. since you have a CCC car with a different connector you need to pick the right model for your car.

So if you read the PDF I attached for my car there are many inputs.. AV1, AV2, AV3 can be used for front camera or even iPhone/Android phone mirroring (my next project). then there is a RGB input for Nav module if you get that from these guys.. and of course a Back up camera input.. So many many options...

Let know how i can help.. I researched this for over a month so know quite a bit now.. including how to run the cables and install camera etc.. After reading and experimenting...a lot I found the easiest way

The interface box you installed for your rear camera has multiple AV inputs and the Front camera goes into one of them... then you just switch it using the controller or the iDrive etc.

On the ebay page description it says: In the course of work, the camera body and the black line faster (there are components) may have a fever that is a normal phenomenon, please assured that use.

Thanks, I was expecting something less manual; like below 10kmh forward; show front camera automatically :)

If I have to do it manually I'll probably will not do it,
I know.. Lazy bastard

Presuming that you connected to the CAN wiring, does the reverse camera image automatically display when the transmission is put in reverse?

This systems sometimes work taking power from reverse light; when on; camera is activated; when off; deactivated. No can signal is really needed.
