sheep skin mitts

Just bought 3 pack of these from Costco for $15 Cdn. Couldn't resist their super soft feel. One mitt has a "special" side for getting bugs off. Have people had good experiences with these to wash and buff polish? Thanks. I've got my zaino all set for the spring thaw.

The Vikings 100% Cotton Chenile Wash Mitts are one of the favourites among serious detailers. If you do want to try and compare make sure you get the 100% cotton one with the Cotton Logo on it. Check out Kragen/Walmart.
Personally I have not used Sheepskin Mitts for washing. And forget about using that special side for bugs. It will scratch for sure. Getting bugs/birdbomb off the paint is a separate topic. People like Alee can write a book on that if you recall.

More important: Use the 2 buckets wash method. Rinse the dirty/used mitts in the 2nd bucket with water only. Wipe in one direction only.

You don't want to use a wash mitts for buffing/polish. You should use either soft 100% Cotton Towel or Micro-Fibre towels for that.

For Zaino application use either Terry pad or soft sponge pad.
Wet the applicator often when applying Z2/Z5/ZFX.

Thanks GTI. Also, I don't know if you use the new Zaino accelerant but I note that the tiny bottle it came in is less than half full with the blue stuff. Do you know if this is normal? The stuff is quite costly for such a small amount.

Peppy, if you have a dark finish, do this:
Wash just 1/2 the trunk with the sheep skin, then the other half with Chenille wash mitt. If you have a good finish to begin with, ie, no swirls, you'll see what the sheep skin wool does...on my jet black finish, it left swirls. I've gone back to strictly Chenille.

thanks Ripsnort. I've got Alpine White so it probably won't be too bad. I'll post some shots of my 2002 325xi once it warms up and I buy a digital camera.
