Hi everyone. I took a ED in early April and am now in the dreaded waiting period.

I have been tracking my vehicle's journey -- bound for NY via a WW ship for Washington DC area delivery -- using the VIN number. Apparently the ship arrived, and left, NY yesterday (the ELEKTRA) but using the "Auto Cargo" lookup on the web site I cannot find an entry that shows that the auto was offloaded from the ship. The entries show:

LOADED ON VESSEL ZEEBRUGGE 22/04/2008 09:17
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL ZEEBRUGGE 17/04/2008 12:47
BOOKED ANTWERP 14/04/2008 10:57

Does anyone know how frequently the WW "cargo tracking" site is actually updated? The thought that the car languishes in the hold somewhere and missed its port is too horrible to contemplate! Will they find it when the ship reaches Brunswick GA? Is it too soon to panic? :)

Sometimes the WW site is spot on and sometimes it is a bit behind.

Given the short period of time that has elapsed, I would check again later today and tomorrow.

It took WW 1 or 2 days to update the tracking page when my car was off loaded.

I would assume it was offloaded if it has left NY already. Might take a couple of days to update further.

Vessel: ELEKTRA

The sailing schedule and ports of call are subject to change without notice.
Note: : Red ports of call means the vessel has already sailed.

The car shows "discharged" from the ship in New York!!! Hurray!

However, the BMW toll-free number simply indicates "in transit."

Is there any way, other than calling up my CA, to learn the status of the car and when I might actually expect to receive it?

I'm happy to call my CA if necessary but would rather obsessively hit "update" on an internet search function -- if available! :) I read through the posts on delivery (I think) but didn't see any info to track delivery AFTER the car leaves WW.

I don't know any computer source to check. Customs is a big black hole.

Call (800) 932-0831 and they can tell you if the car has cleared customs and info on VDC.

I hope someone has info on acking the truck. I would love that.

Thanks to the folks who gave me the additional tracking ideas.

Just an update on status -- my car entered the VDC process on May 6 and as of May 18 is still being processed (the "work order" has not been completed). That's 12 days in the VDC (but does include some weekends). It's frustrating, but what can you do??

So the wait here wasn't Customs, but the VDC itself. I am still hopeful that I'll have the car by the end of the month here in Virginia.

Don't fret. With a nice car like the one you have I am sure those VDC guys are just putting it through a thorough test drive for you. Shouldn't be much longer before it gets back from Orlando.

Some people wait 7-10 days in customs.

When did you drop off the car and where?
