I just bought a short shifter off of ebay, and I am wondering if it possible to install it without needing to get under the car. I have a '95 325i and I am trying to improve my performance inside the car, rather than spending a bunch on the engine (which I will do anyways) but I don't want to take it to a shop to do it, since I don't have a jack.
Don't install it. I've gone down that road and it isn't anything good. Spend a few bucks on a z3 selector rod. Super short and still feels tight. Those eBay crap ones feel so loose when installed.
I'd recommend skipping the Z3 shifter altogether and going straight for the UUC Evo or Rogue Engineering SSK. Those are properly good SSKs. OEM Z3 is okay, but nowhere near as nice as the real deal stuff from UUC or Rogue.
