Well, I recently traded-in my 03 745Li for a 2013 Mustang. She was good while she lasted but with 190K+ miles on the clock and several arising issues the car was really Breaking My Wallet and becoming a money pit . Anyways, before trading-in the vehicle, I went ahead and took out all the electronic parts I upgraded over the years and am parting them out on ebay. So if any of you are looking for any of the following items...here they are:

LOGIC 7 AMP

NAVI03 DVD NAVIGATION UNIT

BTUM 8000 (note only for E65/E66's built up to 12/2002)

Farewell...and I anticipate coming back soon once the F01's depreciate alittle bit more

190K on an 03 Respect !!! How long did you own the car and do share your preventive maintenance tips.

Do post some pics of your mustang, I am sure others would appreciate your initial experience with it.

Flewis, I'd be interested to hear your experiences with the Mobridge kit so I can compare it with my OEM adapter.... My iTouch has 1000 tracks and slows the whole iDrive down for about 10mins after start up. Is this the same with yours?

@Atlantan and @Tarek307 - I've owned the car since 2008 with then 60K on the odometer that I bought from a business partner. Luckily with the extended 6yr/100K BMW bumper-to-bumper warranty, I was able to get several quirks addressed before it expired. This included guibo change, replacing peeling interior trim and sills, trunk motor/springs, tranny reprogramming, leaking mechatronics sleeve change, steering wheel telescoping motor, and front control arm bushings. As far as repairs after warranty, I had to replace the water pump at 101K (my luck), all the electronics listed on the OP and just a month or two back did the coolant pipe fix using the AGA solution and changed both upper radiator hose and coolant expansion tank and they were slightly leaking as well.

With regards to maintenance, I change my oil every 7,500 - 10K miles with Mobil 1 0w40. At around 90K I had the 100K service done at an indy shop (trans pan, filter and ZF Lifeguard 6 fluid; NGK 3199 spark plugs; Bosch oxygen sensors - all 4, air filter/cabin filters, BMW coolant flush, and Pentosin CHF 11S power steering fluid flush). All recalls have been done at the dealer (i.e. brake booster - changed master cylinder and vacuum line, CCV, fuel pump reprogramming, passenger seat mat, transmission reprogramming, and I reckon drive/software updates).

But yeah, I had to let my baby go as I was getting the blue smoke issue and what sounds and smells like a bad catalytic converter, valve and upper-timing cover leaks, beginning to feel the transmission give in as it was beginning to slip, vacuum pump leak and alternator housing oil leak. So in my case, it wasn't cheaper to keep her.

btw- The Mustang I ordered is a white V6 premium convertible on a 36-month lease (nothing special). I actually get delivery in 4 days and will post some pics once in.

Interested to know how you felt about it as well. I might be placing a bid....
@Dan_E65 and @bWilKINS - I've had no complaints on the Mobridge kit and aside from the Dension unit were my only alternatives since I had a pre-facelift car that didn't allow for MP3 text on the iDrive screen. This unit does work in both pre-facelift and facelift cars with MP3 text. As far as performance, it was relatively speedy with about 2-5 mins loading time using my 80G iPod Classic with approx 4K tracks. I've also used my iPhone 4S and even iPad with no issues. The Mobridge solution also includes an AUX input port which I was using for XM satellite radio since my year model was not fitted with either satellite radio or an AUX input port. The beauty with the Mobridge kit is that it allows for firmware upgrades and configuration via an SD slot and is compatible with a wide-range of other European cars.
