I am taking delivery of my 330i in South Carolia after some reading on the internet. I was just wondering if someone has done the same and update me on what to expect. It will help me day dream and wait.

thanks

Just wanted to say hello to a fellow neighbor. I am going up north for the summer. I was gonna go to SC to pick-up instead of coming back to South FL. I decided to just wait until my car comes in before I leave this hotter than hell place. When are you taking delivery?
tam3 is, maybe she'll see this. I'm supposed to go with her too! :D
Hey Jason B:

I was looking at the Wallenius ship schedules and based on our production date (5/10/02) these are the ships/dates I'm thinking we'll most likely catch and if the line at the VPC is short we'll probably get to pick her up on the weekend which is June 8th.

Maybe webguy330i and I will see you at PCD :D

(looking for the email I sent chris....)

Hey Chris, even if you get back late -- you wanna take some of the Blue Ridge Parkway back? :bigpimp: :thumb: If we can't do it then, we should make a detour on the way down to Florida on the next trip. Is Tara coming to Florida with us?

Tammy,

Hell yes we'll take the blue ridge whatever. Who was it that recommended that?

Tara might be coming to Florida, but definitely not to PCD. Her Florida excursion is dependant upon when we return because she has to start work on July 10 IIRC.
I'll be taking delivery from my dealer. I was considering the PC delivery, but I should still be in Florida when my car arrives. It will still be going through the Charleston Port.
Chris,

It was CCs328ci that suggested we take that road.

Remember when you came and picked me up from the airport in Orlando back in Jan '99? Raster had taken me to Asheville, NC to see the mountains (my first view of mountains!) and we tried to go on that road. Every 2 miles there was a barrier where it was closed because of winter weather though (the national park service are nazis about closing roads if there's even a chance of bad things because they don't want to have to go out and rescue your dumb ass).

That area is beautiful. We should bring a picnic lunch or something because there's tons of vistas to stop at. :thumb:

Some you can actually drive to the summit of the mountain where there's a parking lot with picnic tables.
My pickup is scheduled on the 3rd of June. I wonder how is the driving course.

You will not be disappointed by the Blue Ridge Parkway.

SC Pick Up

Don't matter what hour hour you arrive, it is a done day. They will pick you up at the airport in a BMW White Wagon, take you to the Marriot Hotel, pay for a nice room and a good dinner. Steak is just fine. Boufett breakfast also on BMW. You will bne picked up the next day (day of delivery) at about 7:45 AM. One team of 3 couples will go to the track while other will take delivery on their long awaited cars. Lunch on BMW in dining room of the Tech Center. It is a cafeteria style thing with very fine food. You may get to see production if it is not still being set up for nexy years model. You will also go to the museum. This is all I can think of, but any questions send me an E mail. The track is great. I took my delivery on Mar. 26th. Have about 1800 miles on car by now. It is fast and very comfortable. I like it better than my '97 528. The personnel are wonderful folks. You will like them. I am from Melbourne, FL.
Enjoy.

YEP, it was me! :thumb: that is my home.. lets see.. I am about 3 miles from that..hehe it's cool, here's the link for a little info: http://www.nps.gov/blri/
rwebbe -- webguy330i and I are from Sebastian, FL (well, webguy330i isn't from there originally, but I am). How's the weather? We'll be down there this summer. Small world. :)

CCs328ci -- I totally can't wait until we get a chance to conquer the BRP in my new M3 :D :thumb: Maybe if we have time, we could meet up or something?

Haha, echoing Tammy, yeah we're from Sebastian. My parents actually live out in Fellsmere ("Smells Here"). I cannot WAIT to get down there. I need a vacation more than anyone I've ever known... what better a way to start it! :D

Excellent write-up!! Now I can't wait to go! :thumb:

I wonder if I can convince the guy to let me in the Z8... hmmmmm
Sebastian????

Gee Guys,

I lived there when the city folks hired some yahoo in an old Ford to run up and down US 1 and pick up Grehound Buses at 2 Ayem for speeding. He used a stck on door insignia. Sort of sickening.

Had 200 ft riverfront on both sides of old road just south of Fellsmere Road.

Was P.A for sugar mill in old days. Deputy Sherrif so I could legally pick up payroll and carry a concealed weapon. Must admit I coul;dn't hit the broadside of a barn with the old 38. Used to take potshots at ratlllers on way to Mill, and was always out of ammo.

Tech Center off of 85 and is well marked, Really in Greer. Luck

Damn 200ft?! Was that out in the Stick Marsh?
No Stick Marsh

200 Ft. river front property hi and dry. 700 ft dock for boat and trout fishing. The good old days when oysters were good in my back yard at shore line.
