Replaced both axle and speed sensor on rear wheel about 6 months ago and codes are coming back on for speed sensor. Replaced sensor for second time and still getting error codes.

Any thoughts on what to look for?

Thanks.

Sounds like a bad wire somewhere on that sensors wire. I’m talking about the car wiring. Look and see if you can find the pin out on for the abs module and jump the 2 wires at the abs side unplug the sensor and see if you get continuity. If not one of the wires are shorter out. If you arnt able to find the pin out then send me a pm tomorrow between 11-12 and I will look it up for you and send some pictures and other test to carry out. Can’t do it today. Fixing to head to Atlanta to pick up a few cars. I’ll be back at the shop tomorrow.

Rear left is drivers side rear. That’s how all cars are some people look at them from the front and call the left rear the right rear just wanna make sure we are on the same page also what year and model because they change the wiring from time to time as the model has been around for a while. Usually more features equals different diagrams.

What Fault Code(s) are you reading, and what Scan Tool or Software are you using to read them?
Do you have INPA or some other BMW-specific software that can connect to the DSC Module and read Wheel Speed?
How have you determined that the Left Rear sensor signal (Sensor or its wiring) is the fault source?
What warning lights are lit on the Instrument Cluster?

Generally, you need to determine if the Fault/warning light is intermittent or constant. There are TWO different Fault Codes for Wheel Speed Sensors:
P0500 | 2F4E | Vehicle Speed Sensor 'A'
P0503 | 2F4F | Vehicle Speed Sensor 'A' Intermittent I Erratic

If you have INPA or other BMW-specific software, you can read the Live Data signal of each wheel sensor in DSC/Status/Wheel Speed to see which of the four sensor signals is failing, and if it is intermittent or constant.

Here is the wiring diagram for the DSC & Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor (B4 in right side of diagram) with Blue & Brown wires:

Circuit Diagram is interactive and you can get more information on a component, such as "Installation Location" or "Connector View" by clicking on the BLUE Component ID#. If you wanted to test for open or grounded wire in the vehicle harness, you could disconnect Connector X18303 and test each wire (Blue Wire & Brown Wire) for continuity or contact with ground. Here are Installation Location and Connector View for X18303:

I've had multiple codes. The first two are from today. The last one with the 3 codes are from a few weeks ago. I will be posting live stream data I recorded just now after this
