I still have not had the spoiler I ordered with my car actually put on the car and it's been over 2 months! The car arrived without it and when it did finally arrive several weeks later, the independent local body shop contracted by my BMW dealer to put it on balked when they saw that it didn't tightly conform to the contour of the trunk lid.

The installer showed me that if they forced the ends of the spoiler to lie on the surface that the middle of the spoiler would really bow out. I wasn't about to disagree with their assessment that it didn't fit so they sent that one back and ordered a second one. When they tried the second spoiler, it seemed to fit better but the ends still stuck out when the center of spoiler was tight to the body.

The installer is saying that it's enough of a difference that the double backed tape that's supposed to be used to attach the spoiler won't be strong enough and that he would need to use a stronger adhesive. He also stated that he wouldn't put it on his car which puts me in a tough spot. The dealer is willing to refund my money but I really wanted a spoiler so I thought I'd see if anyone else has encountered this problem or has an opinion on what I should do.

hmm! try looking up E90 DIYs both here and at e90post, for I have installed them on my own, and i never had a problem.

Those spoilers need to be bented to conform to the trunk lid.
I posted step-by-step DIYs, photos and comments, with lessons learned,
and you do need the beta-link adhesive along side the tape the comes with it.
if you got questions/comments, post it on these threads for others can also benefit.
