I've been slamming the new designs for so long that I'm at a loss for words to express just how horrible that is.

All I can say is that Bangle surpassed what even I thought he was capable of. I guess congrats are in order.

Bangle has developed a car that, somehow, is a caricature of itself. I mean, it looks a bit like a kit car, and a bit like something you'd see on Saturday morning cartoons.

But it looks nothing like a BMW should.

I don't buy the Mazda comparisons, either. The RX-7 was never a beautiful car, but it was clean and purposeful. The hump on the Z4 looks like it's kidding.

Yes, but given the shape of the car, that wing probably helps stabilize it...

RX-7s, especially modified ones are VERY fast :bigpimp:

I never meant to intimate that what I perceive as a partial RX-7 comparo gave this design credibility either from a functional or aesthetic perspective, only that this 'new' design is anything but fresh and new.

Chalk it up to another excellent example of taking the customer where he doesn't want to go.

Smooth out the side creases and it should look pretty good...they look weird

It should be a significant improvement on the Z3 though...maybe it will look good as a production model :dunno:

That IS pretty much the production model Nate. It's 3 months before they start rolling off the production line, and judging from the lack of camoflage I'd say this is as close to the production model as we're going to get.

I like it. I would want to see some of the specs before I commit though. If it's going to weigh as much as the E46 then forget about it...If Iwas to get another roadster, I want one with a smallish engine, but with light enough where I can still get a lot of get up and go.

The overall length is suppose to be about 6 inches longer than Z3. Go figure it :tsk:

Yes, I realize that it is near prodcution know. Who knows when the pics were shot though. Minus camo, it may come together well...

I'm glad it is longer, much too small for me. Longer wheelbase has almost no downsides...

220lbs is a lot heavier, source? I wonder how much of that is from bracing trying to keep the damn thing from flexing as much as the Z3 :angel:
