I have a 2008 550i and love the car except for an intermittent squeak on the drivers door. The garage tells me that I need to use Armor-all on the felt-like trim (as opposed to the rubber door seal). The garage applied this today and it fixed the problem. It seems odd to me that a car that has been on the market for a few years has still got a problem that needs such an odd fix. Also how long does this fix last? Has anyone else experienced this?

Also the DVD drive for the GPS makes an irritating and intermittent whirring metallic sound. The garage tells me this cannot be fixed and mine is quieter that most!! Comments?

Thanks,
DSCguy.

The same felt (flock) seal is an infamous problem on E39s. Nice to see BMW keeping the traditional alive on the E60. I have the same problem on my 540i

BTW the door seals on my 200k mile winter beater 1993 Suzuki Swift don't squeak.
