Hey guys ,just wondering if any one here has ever installed new rollbars on thier z3, just bought a set but know directions, was wondering what i had to look forward to, any help would be great :dunno:

I found these instructions more than sufficient when I swapped my OEM rollbars out for the Alumex/Chromdesign stainless ones (can't remember which brand they were now):

It's a very simple job provided your Z came with roll bars - if not, you'll find another article on MZ3 net talking abou retrofitting - hope that helps.

I`d prefer to remove the r-bars entirely, any one ever seen any "plugs" to fill the holes left in the bulkhead?

Plugs for missing rollhoops

At OSH = Orchard Supply Hardware, I got some 1 1/2 inch
stainless steel "plugs". they are oversized versions of the plugs
that retrofit an electrial junction box.

They have bendable tangs on the back for adjusting the grip,
fit perfectly, look great.

The way they angle "forward" doesn`t really flow with the rest of the car IMO. It`s also difficult to clean and polish that plastic window (inside) with them in the way. If I read this correctly, you`re dropping the "A" bomb over a subjective opinion ? That`s like calling names/making judgements because someone bought a car in a color YOU don`t prefer.

Or, for a cleaner look, you could use the pre-roll hoop 96 or 97 seat belt tower and subwoofer/storage compartment lid pieces as replacements.
