95K miles on a 328i 5sp.
It's generally "sticky" engaging gears. Seems to have good days and bad days but in general it's a little better after the car has been driven for about 10 min. There's an intermittent chirp coming from the clutch pedal during the top 2" of travel when letting off.
I'm thinking the M/C is weak.
Is there a good way of checking its condition?
I don't feel like spending $100+ on parts plus a couple hours of my limited free time in vain.

I would get under the car and see if the slave cylinder is leaking. If everything looks good there, your tranny fluid may be in need of a change.

I've got the exact same symptoms, even after changing my fluids.

I am not really sure where the master and slave cylinders are though... even though I know a TON about various parts of this car now, there are still areas of it I'm quite new with. Any general info on checking both of those would be very helpful.

Thanks!
