Hello all. I recently upgraded my steering wheel in my e46 from square to triangle (see attached photo). Everything is great except the center of the wheel (the airbag cover with the roundel) is pretty sticky. I've tried soapy water and isopropanol to no avail. I read online that it might be the vinyl decaying. Anyone deal with this before? How can I make it not sticky!?

Try some Ronsonal Lighter Fluid on a rag....it`s great for removing adhesive labels, etc., and should work well for your application. Do a small test area first to check the results.

try the rubbing alcohol again and longer. I've found that's the best thing to renew decompositioning rubber. But it doesn't last forever.
