Hello- new to the forum and new to E30’s in general. I just picked up a nice (driver quality) 87 325i convertible for a fun family ride. The previous owner lowered it (he said 1.7”) which is a bit low for me with the roads around here, but with my wife and two kids it bottoms out everywhere and just doesn't work. I need to return it to stock or close to stock height.

I’ve seen lots of threads and vendors discuss and sell sport suspension parts, most lowering the car over an inch. I’d like a quality “sporty” feel but go back to or maybe up to 1/2” lower than stock.

What are my options? Thanks!

I find Silver's coilovers to be high quality for an OK price. I have them on my 2006 SL500 and they are good. I have a stock setup on my '87 325ic with cheapo Monroe struts/shock and it works just fine with me. If all they did is changing the springs, you can buy good springs at Rockauto for cheap and change them back. IMHO, these cars do not need to be low...
