I bought a 2001 Z3 3.0i this spring that now has 25K miles on it. It goes without saying I'm nuts about the car. Living in Minnesota, I obviously don't want to drive it in the winter. However, I don't want to take it out to the storage facility where I store my boat, I want to just keep it at home in the garage. The car came with a full cover for it. I'm thinking I'll just put some Stabil in the gas and maybe start and run it a little while about once a month until spring? Anybody have any advice or suggestions for doing anything differently?

To answer, change the oil and filter...don't start it till spring, keep a Battery Tender or quality trickle charger on it, and the Stabil.

If you want to disconnect the battery, be sure you have the radio code or you will frustrated after you reconnect the battery...should be fine with the trickle charger.

Actually the most simple way. Park it and put a Battery Tender or similar on it.

That is what we do with our cars that don't get driven for the winter. Nothing special. And no problems for 11 years on the M Roadster, 8 years on the M3 LTW (and that can sit for a year or more without being driven).
