So since i got my baby i have put 400 miles on it in three days.... But at least i get an avg mpg around 34 which i think is extremely well considering i push the gas a ton. But so i go pick up my friend driving home, I shift into fourth.. the engine starts going balbaklbalblalbalbhalbh pull over and it dies... Try starting it, starts and dies instantly:tsk: So me and my friend end up pushing it three blocks back to my house and it is still sitting out there... I was just wondering if there is anyway to make it work again, you like a headlight where you wiggle the filament and it turns back on and works for a few days. I hope it will start like a champ tomorrow i think its cause it is really cold out tonight 20F freakin cold man! And all the junkyards around here are closed till jan 2 which really sucks cause i can see a 325es in the junkyard closet to me, i almost jumped the fence to get the tps and leave like 20$ dollars in the mail box. I really don't want to go back to driving my dad's ford fiestiva, it's seems slower then **** after driving my e30... well tomorrow i will change the si batteries and try starting it yet again... Hopefully it will start so i can go somewhere.

sounds similar to issues i've had...

turned out to be a cold coolant temp sensor not reading correctly and not giving the engine enough fuel at idle when cold

i could usually start it and keep it at an idle of 2k or so by giving it a little throttle at startup and holding the idle up higher till it warmed up

for some reason, when my eta is warming up she chugs and sits at 500rpm. the verge between running and staling, then she will rev up to 1,000rpm then back to 500rpm
could this be a similar issue to the cold start temp? it usually only does it when cold. After warm she may do it once in a blue mooon

Umm well i ended up calling the dealer was on hold for 2 hrs hung up called back and they freaked out cause the parts guy left without talking to me... Well my dad after like 6 hours of trying to locate a tps thought of his german specialist friend:mad:     ... Well i ended up replacing the cold start. Works like a charm now and it doesn't have such a vibrating idle either. I got that and a new mass air flow sensor for free YAY! So i also found brand new rims from the dealer for my car instead of the gay ass bbs yellow rims. And lucky me i found a front valance that he is considering giving to me for free. Well another adventure in my SI batteries got replaced... The tach and mpg still doesn't work :( Any ideas on what else could cause it, the temp gauge and SI lights work now(lights meaning they don't turn on since i reset them).

Umm and on the back of the cluster there is one wire going into the green part and i am not sure what green slot it goes into i just plugged it into where it was before... I think that the cluster has been replaced cause it is missing the mounting screws.

The tach and mpg meters not working is usually a sign of the dash clusters batteries failing. They do that every ten or so years. You can either buy a new dash, or replace the Ni Cad batteries inside. Use can use AA Ni Cad batteries found at radio shack, if you can find them. Ni Cad is now old tech I guess.

Yeah...and the good news there is that the new tech stuff lasts longer...

I realized that you stated discreetly on the bottom of your post only after I posted. I need to learn how to read or delete my posts. Sorry! But what will work in replacement of the Ni Cad batteries?

i don't know how expensive they are but if you have a white or black 2 wire connector i will trade ya for your TPS...

Umm the temp gauge started to work but i think that might of been because of new sensor... i think maybe my si board is messed up i will just go get the cluster out of the same car i got the sensor maybe i can get for cheap
