I have a 2011 328i, live in CA, and have approximately 100k miles on my car. The car has a SULEV warranty to 150k. One of the head bolts broke and my car was leaking oil. In repairing it, the headbolts and gaskets had to be replaced. I was told this repair was not covered under my SULEV warranty. Is this accurate? I***8217;ve already paid $1700 for the repair but am still a bit perplexed as to how this issue could not, potentially, impact emissions.

Was it a valve cover gasket and not a head gasket.
Because if it was Head Gasket it would likely be twice the price.

That is not a criterion for SULEV warranty coverage.
