Was is the optimal temperature for best grip.

I have some dunlops that came w/ my 325ci SP and they seem to be kinda slick, when outside air temps reach 90+. The car seems to slide as opposed to hopping when it’s, say, 60 or 70 degrees.

Anyone else sense this? Or is this just my imagination.

Your tires warm-up as you drive, so the outside air temp is just your starting point. The important thing is your tire temp. 60-degree tire temp is too cold and somewhere in the mid 100s they get too hot.

On a cold day... you got to warm up your tires. I noticed this is critical for my S-03s, but did not matter as much for Conti's.
