Well the SCCA kicked off the season this year with quite the turn-out at our local chapter (Finger Lakes Region, NY). Around 200 cars showed up! Here are some pictures and videos of the event:

Note that I finished 2nd out of 9 in D-Stock, up against many-a-WRX. :D

Some teasers:

:bigpimp: Good times for all!!

Ah cool. My apologies for the garbage quality; I didn't have the video camera out there so we used the digital (still) camera. Next time will be better I promise! :D

Hey thanks guys. It was definitely a good time.

Shinobi, I agree r-comps are the way to go. I'm debating whether or not I want to go down that path, as I'm still learning (this was my first RWD autox) so we'll see. Are you not allowed to run in Street Touring? What keeps you out of that class?

Ackster, it was at RIT. That parking lot is basically brand new! You shoulda seen it last year, uhg. I think the Western NY SCCA group gets out to UB but I'm not sure.

nate, it was about 35 degrees for us so everyone was slippin around the track. Even the r-comp boys couldn't get very good traction. That M5 was part of the "One Lap of America" race, hence the suspension mods. I didn't catch the particular company who made it though. It's a pretty cool race, kinda like a rally except you race around the country and hit different tracks. I'd love to get out on a track someday. :thumb:

nate, yeah we had a f#$%ing cold front roll through. It sucked!

Ackster, I've been out to a local strip here with my old Civic, but never with the bimmer. That's definitely on the list of to-do's! I'm curious to see how well she does. :D

It's a 1/4 mile... I think a 1/8 would be way too short. In my Civic I'd hit about 90mph at the end of the gates, and we all know how fun it is to legally go anywhere over 80mph. :D

I think I'll make it past 100mph in the bimmer. I'm hoping for a high 14s run.
