my old 325i (92) came with sway bars and the transition from a honda accord to a bmw was quite liberating. however, i was wondering if anyone knows whether putting on a whole aftermarket suspension including sway bars would improve the handling so dramatically that i would notice it when i am driving on a windy road?

As with all modifications, for each modification there are tradeoffs.

With most suspension mods for performance, ride quality suffers. To get better cornerning, you generally need, stiffer springs and shocks, which results in a more bumpy ride.

Swaybars tend to impact ride quality less than springs and shocks, but most aftermarket bars use some sort of poly bushings that can require more frequent lubrication than standard bars.

Tradeoffs, tradeoffs.....
