Swapping/Sharing e-sys FA files

I'm trying to restore my ZGW module from a programming abort (transport mode?) and e-sys can't read the FA from the VCM. Could I activate someone else's FA (after editing) and continue from there?

Nope. I installed e-sys only to try to restore the ZGW. I did run some diagnostics using ISTA+ previously and inadvertently ran a software update (hence, my troubles). Is it possible that IST+ may have created XMLs equiavalent to e-sys FA's?

My next request would be to ask someone with a F30 to share their FA

I wouldn't recommend loading someone else's FA, that can mess with component protection if you have it. Rather, if you get your hands on another FA use it to expedite rebuilding your own in the FA Editor in ESys.

Did you save/print your measures plan or final report in ISTA? That will contain a plaintext person of your FA, including E-words and your type code and zeiktirum(Sp?).

Yeah, it doesn't save the FA in the operations report to my knowledge.

If you want, you can PM me your VIN and I'll pull/build your FA. But I won't be able to build it for you until this afternoon, will be at least 5-6 hours. So if you need it sooner, might want to wait for someone else to post here.

I’m sure you can go to a website, FSCMAP I think and you can download an XML FA specific to your vehicle based on its VIN, do a search and see what you can find.
