I am going to switch out the stock shift knob (looks a bit worn down) and I like the how it lights up but I like chrome apperance like the SMG . I found this shift knob

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/M-BM...019QQitemZ290014101191QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

And I would like to replace mine.

1. Does it just twist off? Any tips on doing this
2. The M3 lights up, what do I do with the cord? does that get moved as well?
3. As for as the pattern I assume I will need to buy the 1-6 speed shift knob cap or can I just switch mine out?

Any suggestions/help let me know! thanks!

Hi - It "should" just pop off -- here's how I did mine --

1 - Enter car and sit astride the transmission tunnel

2 - Firmly grasp the shift knob, then quickly and with conviction pull straight up

Should come off in your hand with a firm tug, be careful you don't overdo it and end up sending yourself through the sunroof.
